#209 // Five Candles I need in my life

candles, rituals, loccitane, bella freud
As Autumn setttles in, my love for candles really ramps up.

Ok, that's a lie. My love of a good scent that wafts through the house isn't bound by season, rhyme or reason. I just want all of the candles. All of the time.

Fist up is one I already own: an Anthropologie number in the scent Aloha Orchid. As pleasing to the nostrils as it is aesthetically, this soy wax candle has been giving me joy in the evenings and at bathtime for the last few weeks.

Hands up, who's jonesing for that Ginsberg is God sweatshirt? Yep, me too. But, um, don't really have a spare £270 hanging around at the moment. In truth? I don't like the scent of this candle. It has a heavily floral perfume about it, and it's just not my thing. BUT, I don't think I'd be the first amongst us candlephiles to buy a candle more for decoration (Instagram flat lay obsesso's I'm looking at you), than scent. I think this would make a lovely Christmas present for the white background lovin,' fashionista in your life.

I headed to the Rituals stand at Stylist Live this weekend, and fell in love with these candles. Mainly because of the semi-hidden quotes that are illuminated when you light them.

Ah, The White Company. An instarammable dream. I've been eyeing this blackcurrant number up since the Autumn Winter catalogue dropped through the letter box. I've not owned a White Company candle before, but I've been in enough times and sniffed up a storm, to trust the quality of the candles and the autenticity of the scents.  I think that this may be the year.

A citrussy candle to finish with. L'occitane are currently offering a free 7-day trial of one of their facial moisturisers. When I went in to collect my perfect match - precious immortelle cream - this candle caught my eye - and nose. It's fresh, yet warm with a good balance of sharpness and sweetness. You also get a £10 voucher to spend in store when you collect your cream. I think I know exactly how mine will be spent.

Do you have any favourite candles that I should know about?
