Note #136 // New In: Marc by Marc Jacobs Latin Rings

Veritas inlustrat. Truth enlightens.

That's the translation of the Latin engraving on this ring. And let me lay some truth down on you guys. This stylish silver plated ring was £2, the gold £3. And it's not a knock off or an eBay via China spesh. This is the real deal.
A short walk from the Marble Arch end of Oxford Street is the London Marc by Marc Jacobs boutique. It's a lovely boutique that houses their main collections for men and women and very covetable sunglasses, jewellery and handbags.

The first thing I noticed, which I hadn't on previous trips is that a fair amount of their jewellery is reasonably priced. I don't mean competitively priced compared to the likes of Accessorize, but by designer diffusion standards, the £50 mark for a bracelet or earrings isn't horrendous. And I really like the design details the brand is synonymous for.

But now to reveal one of my top London shopping secrets: if you wander downstairs, there is a small outlet section that always has a gem or two. They tend to be jewellery and small accessories, but make great gifts and make recipients eternally fawn over and exclaim,"oh! You shouldn't have!"

Now, I may have bought a £2 ring (rub that money-saving halo) but I left wanting a watch and a £350 bag (not so fast). Am currently spending my evenings trying to justify the watch purchase next month...
