Last weekend, I took Laura out for her birthday treat. And aside from a lot of walking and a lotta eating, we went along to the new Cheeky parlour in the shiny and equally new, Hoxton Holborn hotel. Side note: I will so be re-visiting that hotel for food. There's also a Chicken Shop outlet next door that we were meant to go to afterwards, but discovered was closed on Sundays. Fail.

Cheeky is the trendy sister brand of the Cowshed line of body and spa products. This is the second Cheeky parlour opening, the first being in Shoreditch. That branch has actually closed down for refurbishment, but is going through what sounds like an awesome refurbishment, that will see it offer an expanded service menu including hair, nails and waxing. Round two will be taking place there.

I signed Laura up for a 45 minute mani-pedi combo at £37 that included the full works and a drink on arrival. I went for a pedicure - the first I've ever had, might I add! The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and the atmosphere was chilled and relaxing. You wouldn't think you were in zone one if you couldn't see all the black cabs and buses going past.

Looking down at my tootsies almost a week on that are still glistening back up at me in glossy Ice Ice Baby, I can most definitely say I'll be back. Add to this, the fact that I love a loyalty card and your sixth mani/pedi is free and there you have it. Customer for life! But seriously, I'll most certainly be back for a combo next time. I want to try some of the nail art.

It was a lovely way to spend a Sunday, and Laura really enjoyed herself. I left with a great make up bag that was thrown in for free too. If you happen to be planning a trip to London sometime soon, I'd really recommend it as a lovely relaxing way to finish your time here. You can precede it with shopping in Covent Garden or Oxford Street which are both near by. For more, go to the Cheeky website.
