Note #98 // Pace.

I saw a girl on the train platform this morning with green weave and my first though was, 'what is this nonsense? I don't get it.' The immediate thought to follow this was, 'you're getting on, you're not meant to get it.' I pay just about enough attention to what's going on around me to know that Azalea Banks is the clone du jour hair inspiration behind the green-tinged locks. Change is a-happening in my world, but I don't feel like it's just me though. A friend of mine was recently asking what the fuck loom bands were and why they were all over her house.

In the blogging community, I've been noticing a lot of bloggers taking a step back to re-evaluate why they blog, what they say, how they say it and how often. Because life happens, because we're getting older and priorities change.

I used to be the zippy Londoner that was impatient to get everywhere, everything passing me in a blur, now I'll happily wait for the next tube, because is there really that much in me getting to the office at 8.47 or 08.48?

In truth, I'm completely happy (and relieved) at the change of pace. It's funny, even when I was rushing around at the speed of light, I didn't feel as though I was getting any more done. Conversely, it barely felt like I had three minutes to read the Metro app on the tube. I'm now perfectly content being somewhere between the middle and the bottom of a never-ending to-do list. I don't have to do and know everything and be everywhere. And I don't want to. It's all about cruise control, enjoying and savouring every moment and I'm not looking to change gears any time soon.
