Note #40 // Out with the old, in with the...old

Don't you just love when you rediscover things? I love wardrobe shopping - a bit of a thrill without damaging the purse. While I'm trying not to shop so much, restyling my wardrobe with different twists is helping keep my wallet shut. I rediscovered these suede tassled heels from Faith, which I divorced for putting me in footwear hell on one particular occasion. However, this was a day when I apparently felt the need to walk the marathon without commuter shoes. Ballerina pumps safely in tow, they are all good for sauntering around the office.

I've firmly switched into summer mode now. Goodbye woollen winter coats, hello lighter jackets, blazers and cardi's. Also, it's out with the black and in with cooler tans, browns and co-ordinating summer tones.  My Whistles jeans finally gave way the other day (let's be fair, they had seen a lot of action), so my new Topshop baxters are lightwash and perfect for summer (they also boast a two inch smaller waist  - woop woop 16lbs in 16weeks!).

For the past few seasons, I've ensured that anything that I add to my wardrobe can be changed up and from season to season, is a quality piece and comfortable (jeez, I'm getting old). I'm more about style than trends nowadays. I also make sure that I can style any new piece with what I already have in my wardrobe, without the need for additional purchases.

How do you make your wardrobe work harder without getting out your wallet?
