I met a friend for a lovely brunch at Tom's Deli in Notting Hill over the bank holiday. The kooky, kitch decor and retro displays are as much of a veritable feast for the eyes as the food on offer. They had an awesome looking brunch menu (I should know, so many plates wafted passed us while we were queuing for a table), but like the good Weight Watcher buddies that we are we went for the miso salmon salad which was delish. Somehow we managed to avoid devouring one of the hunks of cake, but we did have a quality hot chocolate each.

I'd recommend Tom's for a lovely breakfast, brunch or dessert. It's got lots of cosy seating perfect for a good gossip with a friend. I'd also recommend it for the treats on offer to takeaway. When the deli opened over 20 years ago its USP was that it was a high class grocer and supplier of artisan produce from the British Isles and the continent, something that it still does expertly to this day.

It's also not too far from Westfield, so if you do give in, you can take a picturesque walk down to the shopping centre (what I would give to live in some of those houses!) and walk off the cake.
